Baby Dedications

In Luke 2:22, Mary and Joseph present the baby Jesus to the Lord in the temple. It was God's way of allowing mom and dad to publicly acknowledge God's blessing in their lives, to consecrate their child back to Him, and to declare their need for God's grace and wisdom to parent Jesus the right way.

Baby dedication isn't a spiritual ritual that somehow protects your child from failure or harm. It's a commitment that you as a parents make to raise your child before the Lord. You are recognizing that he or she belongs to God and has been born to experience His love and to serve Him. It's your opportunity to commit, as Christian parents, to be a Christ-like example for your child, to teach the truths of God's Word in your home and participate in regular worship with your child.
